Gravity

Gravity is a cinema interior in Shanghai, China, covering 2800 square meters. The design is inspired by the idea that extreme gravity forms a black hole that distorts space and time. A white swirl on the ceiling recalls this effect, with stacked light coves that rise from low to high like a revolving staircase. The swirl also shapes the walls and the floor. Flowing lines cover the walls, with gold and silver accents that twist into forms recalling rolled leaves. Materials include stone, acoustic panels, plastic laminate, carpet and gypsum board.

Doveil

Doveil is a brand experience center covering 800 square meters in Xiamen. The interior follows a minimal approach inspired by the abstract grid paintings of Piet Mondrian, in which black lines link fields of colour. Rock slab is used for the display props and for decorative surfaces. A void seven meters high marks the entrance and gives the hall a sense of ritual. A concrete beam in the front hall is left exposed to respect the original structure. Windows placed on the same line of sight connect the rooms and give the space depth and rich layers.

Dexin Xianlin Zhigu

Dexin Xianlin Zhigu is a sales center located in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, China. The result is a quiet space that combines minimalism with a modern character.

Tomorrow Casa

Tomorrow Casa is a living hall designed as a shared community space. Wide stairs shape the entrance and give an open and welcoming impression. Glass covers more than half of the ground floor, so the interior can be seen before it is entered. The second floor avoids window display methods, so visitors are invited to take part rather than only to look. Environmental friendliness guided the project from the first planning stage through to completion. The design seeks a calm dialogue between the building and the city around it.

Monya

Monya is a Japanese restaurant with a floor area of about 230 square meters. The west facing facade is formed by tall glass windows, so a very thin wooden lattice was installed across the whole surface to soften the strong sunlight. The interior includes private rooms, a counter where the chef cooks in front of guests, an open space for parties and a terrace seat beside a private garden. One glass private room can be divided in two by a soundproof sliding shutter. The lattice gives privacy without solid walls and creates calm light and shadow.

OO

OO is a residential interior design created through the renovation of a house that was forty years old. The three storey home covers 195 square meters and stands in a narrow alley in Kaohsiung. The facade carries openings arranged in a code like pattern and filled with glass bricks, so daylight enters while the interior stays secure. Materials include Japanese cypress, solid wood and formaldehyde free bamboo carbon paint. The staircase divides the space, and its landing is made of magnetic glass that also serves as a drawing surface.
