Qing Zhu Lake

QingZhu Lake is a sales center in ChangSha that also serves as a small library. The interior covers 1200 square meters and is finished with marble, glass and wood flooring. Surfaces are shaped to recall the pages of an open book. The quiet setting invites visitors to read and to return to printed books, as many young readers now prefer electronic ones. Marugo

Marugo Shinbashi is a wine bar and restaurant interior located on a busy street in Shinbashi, Tokyo. The circle of the Marugo brand sign is repeated through the interior to improve visibility and recall. A wine red tiled wall and a buttoned bench carry the circular motif, while colored copper plates of Takaoka copperware cover a full wall. Cube brick tile and mahogany wood complete the material palette. Indirect lighting was adjusted with a full-size mockup so that light reads clearly from each circle. The space covers 105 square meters.

Shkrub

The Shkrub house appeared out of love and for love — a loving couple with three kids. The element of earth as a material makes itself felt in structural aspects of the home, such as the original thatched roof and in the beautiful and dense textured clay walls. The idea of paying homage, as a founding place, can be sensed throughout the home, like a delicate guiding thread.

Custom textiles, wallpaper and furniture add color and light.

Shiding Tea Ceremony

Shiding Tea Ceremony is a tea art classroom created for a high school in Taipei. The project converts a damp and dark storage room into an open teaching space. One original tea stove and chimney are kept as a reminder of the past. The glass is thickened and the window frames are reinforced for safety. The space measures 18370 mm in width, 9280 mm in depth and 4430 mm in height. The open layout supports contact between students, visitors and nature.

Musen Spa

Musen Spa is a leisure club interior located in Wuxi and covering 1300 square meters. Walls in the service area are finished with large wooden veneers, and carved rubble adds a rough, three-dimensional texture. Warm wood is combined with a cool marble floor. Gauze curtains and silk screens soften the hard stone surfaces, while embedded metal partitions divide the volumes. The bar has a soft curved form in leather and drawn copper wire. A winding arched passage connects the reception hall to the rest area, where scattered ball lights create a quiet setting.
