RICCA

RICCA is a bar interior in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, a district that keeps a traditional Japanese atmosphere. The design expresses Hanami, the Japanese custom of cherry blossom viewing that lasts only a few weeks in early spring. The ceilings of both spaces are covered with flower shaped objects made of resin with hologram sheets, cut by laser and bent by hand. Light placed inside and outside is reflected in changing colors, so the objects appear as fluttering petals. A half transparent red film is added in the lounge area, while the private karaoke room reflects light naturally.

Glass House is a small residential interior design in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The structure is screwed and modular, based on the sizes of the glass panels and the steel profiles, so waste is avoided and the house can be moved or modified. Certified wood, stone and textured surfaces are used inside to bring warmth to the glass shell.

Back to glory

Back to Glory is a residential interior design for a 40-year-old apartment. A large two-story skylight and multi-axial spatial planning bring daylight deep into the narrow and long plan. Inwardly tilted glass drains rainwater, and large windows open the living room toward the skylight. A stair patio carries light down to the basement and relieves the low ceiling height. Layered openings connect the bedrooms, the dressing area, the study and the yard, while curtains and doors by section protect privacy.

Moonlit Garden Wuxi

Moonlit Garden Wuxi is a sales center located in the New District of Wuxi, China. The interior uses regional materials linked to local industry, such as cloth, iron, bamboo and Taihu Lake stone. A twenty meter entrance passage uses mirrors to create repeated reflections that suggest a bamboo forest. The ground floor recalls the historical background of Wuxi through these local materials. A belt of artificial greenery is installed on the ceiling of the underground lounge. The facility remains open like a public park, so local residents can meet and interact.

Pocket House

Pocket House is a mobile residence built inside a standard 40-foot shipping container. The reused container rests on a simple support base, and the dry construction was completed by installation alone in ten days, with little waste. Sections of the steel side walls were removed and replaced with glass doors, which improve ventilation and daylight and open the interior to the garden. Wood is used as the single interior coating for the floor, walls and ceiling. The compact plan holds a bedroom, a bathroom, a living and dining area and a kitchen.
