Crystalscape

Moriyuki Ochiai Architects performed the design for a beauty salon. They endeavored to create a space that would envelop the body in such radiance by making the entire ceiling into a luminous crystal symbolizing the ideal of resplendent hair.Metallic waves, representing the bright, aerial, gracious way in which hair flows, are intricately weaved into a white matrix of geometric patterns. They sought to honor the beauty of hair and replicate the spatial experience of penetrating into its mysterious radiance and profound depth through the repeated entwinement of layers of lattice and metal.

CHI Design

CHI Office is a workspace created inside an old house in HsinZhu, Taiwan. The original building had uneven ceilings and floors and disorderly compartments. Stone, metal and titanium plated details are combined with wood and planting to create a calm and open working atmosphere.

A warm vintage industrial style and a modern grand style are combined through a shared grey base. Leather, wood, iron and metal add visual variety. The living room and dining room have no ceiling, and dark grey paint extends the perceived height. A kitchen island faces the dining room to support family interaction.

Pocket House Residential

Pocket House

Pocket House is a mobile residence built inside a standard 40-foot shipping container. The reused container rests on a simple support base, and the dry construction was completed by installation alone in ten days, with little waste. Sections of the steel side walls were removed and replaced with glass doors, which improve ventilation and daylight and open the interior to the garden. Wood is used as the single interior coating for the floor, walls and ceiling. The compact plan holds a bedroom, a bathroom, a living and dining area and a kitchen.
